“Tattoo” made on my desk quoting Plato. It says “The good is that what unifies. The beauty is that what elevates in the direction of unity. The just is that what brings order. Everything in its right place.” This is one of the intentions impregnated on my working space. Whenever we have the opportunity to chose (and we have more than we believe), we should try to surround ourselves by words, music, objects, food that elevate our spirit. When I wake up, I sit on my bed and thank for the sun being there again and giving me the chance to be better today than yesterday. I ask that the day brings whatever experience is necessary for my development and that I find the right means to benefit others. Eventually, I start the day listening to piano music, reading a beautiful poem or contemplating the small flower on the dining table. When I’m tidying up and cleaning the house, I listen to audiobooks that help me to understand a bit more about myself and the world. We are constantly required by life to choose. I have the choice to meet the neighbor that likes to gossip or to help the mom next-door with the newborn child. I have the choice to spend hours reading make-up tips on social media or to medite on my own masks and shadows. Even when we face a challenging situation where nothing can be changed, I may choose to accept what is or to fight the natural flow. The discipline of positive thoughts, words and actions is a habit. It requires everyday practice and a vigilant mind available to all of us. It does not mean to be happy all the time and walk with a smily face. Sadness and anger have also its beauty and function when it helps us to access hidden parts and transform difficult emotions. Transforming blind spots and attachments in a creative and non-destructive way is also a choice. Give it a try and start today being aware of your choices.
